Napoleon Bakery closes again; Jazz District location still open

One of the recurring Fat City stories of 2010 was the saga of the Napoleon Bakery and the operation’s current owner, James Holmes. In one year, Holmes moved the venerable bakery out of its longtime location in Westport and into the former Artisan Francaise space in Johnson County, closed a satellite location in Briarcliff Village, and opened another satellite bakery and cafe in the historic Lincoln Building in the Jazz District.
Oh, and now he has closed the Overland Park location after all. “It wasn’t a very good location,” his daughter told me.
