More Thanksgiving Day possibilities

Not everyone wants home cooking, y’all |
Last week, we suggested several possible restaurant choices for Fat City residents who prefer the ease and comfort of going to a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner instead of preparing it at home. Well, today we have more!
The Kansas City Marriott Downtown has a buffet dinner from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. priced at $23 and $12 for children ages 6 to 12. The spread includes butternut squash soup, Chesapeake-style shrimp-and-scallop salad, roasted turkey breast, porcini-crusted loin of beef, pan-roasted sea bass, among many other items. For reservation information and availability, call 816-421-6800.
If you simply want a place to go out for a Thanksgiving morning breakfast, Parkville’s Roxanne’s Cafe (6264 Lewis Street in the Parkville Commons Shopping Center) will serve its signature breakfast combo plates — including the Gunslinger — until 11 a.m. The new 24-hour diner in the P&L District, Fran’s Classic Diner, will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner that day.
For something fancier, the Peppercorn Duck Club at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center serves a holiday buffet that includes its legendary Ultra Chocolatta Dessert Bar; call 816-398-4845 for reservations.
For a less expensive, but more lively buffet experience: The Horizons Buffet at the Ameristar Casino will be open.
