Marin Meyer and Morgan Cochran roast anonymous dating tales at Flirts & Fumbles
Marin Meyer has been in the matchmaking business for years, running speed dating and mingling events in the city. Today, her talents have manifested in the creation of Flirts & Fumbles, a live comedy dating show she co-hosts with local stand-up comedian Morgan Cochran. Once a month, the duo reads anonymous dating stories to a live audience.
The show didn’t always look like this, however. In the beginning, Marin Meyer thought Flirts & Fumbles would manifest as a podcast akin to Girls Gotta Eat, which she cites as a major inspiration for the show and her career. It actually started as a queer dating series, but quickly pivoted to the reading-dating-blunders-style show seen today after parts of the original production began to fall through less than 24 hours before the event. Meyer called her husband, friends, and family members for story submissions. 
The rebranded storytelling show was officially launched in December 2025 with rotating co-hosts alongside Meyer; local stand-up comedian Cochran joined Meyer as a permanent co-host in April.
Along with matchmaking, Meyer also has a background in public health. She says her educational background paired with Cochran’s comedy, as well as the pair’s different relationship statuses, makes their dynamic “electric.”
“Morgan doesn’t read the stories before the show, so there aren’t any planned jokes,” says Meyer. “Our banter back and forth works so well.”
At an average show, Meyer reads eight to 10 dating stories, confessions and questions from the submission form in their Instagram bio while Cochran reacts in real time. The audience waves red and green flags throughout, yells out answers when Meyer asks questions, and participates in the ‘fumble jar.’
“The fumble jar is for audience members who didn’t get a chance to submit online; they can write short stories, confessions, or questions. Morgan and I read them throughout the night,” Meyer says. “I actually made my husband a part of the show; we call him Hot Stuff, and he always brings up the jar.”
Flirts and Fumbles brings laughter, but also relatability and comfort, with audience members often coming up after the show to share how they saw themselves and their experiences in the stories that night.
“People just want to feel like they’re not alone when it comes to dating; we want to bring that comfort through our show. You can tell us your wild and crazy dating stories, the ones that are sitting in your group chat.”
Flirts and Fumbles’ next show is August 28th at Hula Hoop, and full episodes can be found on their YouTube channel.
