Longboards Wraps & Bowls signs deal for new Mission location

Longboards Wraps & Bowls, the popular fast-casual grilled wrap and sandwich shop that started in 2004 at 6269 North Oak Trafficway, has just signed a lease to put its third location (the second is located in Liberty) in the former Little Caesar’s Pizza space at 5415 Johnson Drive in Mission’s Mission Mart Center.

Steve Choikhit, president of Commercial Ventures and manager of Mission Mart, confirmed that negotiations for the lease had been completed this morning and that owners John Bailey and Gilbert Macpagal hoped to have the new venue open by September, if not earlier.

“We’re hoping to have it open by July or August, if possible,” Bailey says.

Bailey says he and Macpagal chose Mission for their third location because they liked the small-town feel of the area. “There’s actually pedestrian traffic around Mission Mart,” Bailey says. “And a slower speed limit. That sense of being local really works for us.”

Bailey says he and Macpagal looked at Overland Park locations and even considered spots in midtown and the Crossroads (“We might consider those areas in the future,” he says), but felt that Mission was the best opportunity to grow the 10-year-old brand.
