Kin Lin expanding into former Muddy’s location

- Kin Lin will be expanding into the old Muddy’s Coffeehouse space.
Over four months ago, the popular midtown coffeehouse Muddy’s closed up shop, and at least one local publication reported that two former Muddy’s employees had negotiated to buy the business. That was true, but as Fat City reported last June, the devil was in the details, and the employees couldn’t close the deal. The Muddy’s storefront has been sitting vacant for several months.
But no longer. A spokesperson for the leasing agent, Copaken White & Blitt, confirms that Kin Lin Chinese Restaurant, the longtime tenant at the 51st and Oak location, will be expanding into the storefront, enabling the family-owned restaurant to not only increase its seating capacity but also create a private banquet room. The restaurant is also applying for a liquor license.
