Something New

Rajadhani: New to Overland Park is Rajadhani, an Indian restaurant. Rajadhani means capital or royal residence, and features a bar, a dine-in menu, express options, and catering. It is near 119th and Blue Valley Parkway.

Gianni’s Italian Restaurant: Gianni’s is new to Kansas City, near State Line and Blue Ridge Boulevard. This casual Italian restaurant offers dine-in and carry-out.

XR: At Crossroads Hotel, XR’s pizza of the week is a notable and rich offering. The “Buff Mac Daddy” with a garlic oil base topped with mac and cheese, blue cheese, buffalo chicken, celery leaf, pickled carrot, and a side of ranch is available through November 11.

Opening

Take Care: Take Care by Oleo Coffee is Crossroad’s newest cafe. The grand opening is this Friday, November 10, from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. Take Care has a farmer-chic Americana aesthetic, and the food specialty is biscuits. Possibly the most unique aspect is that they are a no-tip cafe, where baristas are paid a consistent wage. Read more here.

Barley and Vine: From 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. this Saturday, Barley and Vine is throwing a grand opening party as the newest wine spot in Platte City. The event features live music, food trucks, photo ops, and more. Barley and Vine is a new upscale bar and gathering space with house-brewed beers, local and international wines, and small plates.

Festival proceeds support the small business collective RiverNorth District. Fourteen local breweries will be there, such as Boulevard, Casual Animal, BKS Artisan Ales, and more.

Alma Mader Brewing: Fern Bar is popping up at Alma Mader Brewing on Southwest Boulevard from 7 – 11 p.m. Fern Bar will be opening their own doors soon, but you can preview some of their cocktails here. Stop by for local beer, craft cocktails, and music from DJ Casio McCombs.

Nighthawk: From 9 – 11 p.m. at Nighthawk in downtown KC, Queer Bar Takeover is running the show. Tickets for the event start at $6 in advance. The event features a DJ, bar service from Nighthawk, a shuttle bus from Fountain Haus in Westport, and free tickets for trans folks and drag performers.

November 12

Kelly’s: In Westport, Kelly’s is in its Swifty era. From 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., it’s all Taylor all the time. This family-friendly event features friendship bracelet making, Taylor Swift merch, and drink specials.

Plan Ahead

Cliff’s Taphouse: Cliff’s in Martini Corner is hosting a vegan dinner on November 13. Tickets are $75 and include five courses with wine pairings. The theme is Thanksgiving-style foods, so expect tofurkey, pumpkin pudding, green bean casserole, and more hearty dishes from Executive Chef Bryan Sparks.
