- The KC Beer Fest is back.
After a year off, the KC Beer Fest returns on Saturday, September 28, and it’s got a new sponsor. The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium is hosting the local beer festival, and, accordingly, it’s been moved to the KC Live area in the Power & Light District. The lineup of 60 beers has not yet been unveiled, but Boulevard will have 10 taps (including Westside Rye and Mid-Coast IPA of the new Tasting Room series), and pretzels and brats will also be served. The beer festival, which in part benefits the Kansas City CARE Clinic and AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City, runs from 3 to 6 p.m.
Tickets cost $30 in advance (up to midnight on September 27 for you commitment-phobes out there) and $35 at the gate. VIP tickets, which come with an extra hour of beer, a buffet, and access to private restrooms in Maker’s Mark (the first and third benefits justify the price) are $50.
