Kansas City’s worst waiter is sentenced to jail

Nineteen months ago, we reported in Fat City that a former Kansas City waiter, John David Woody — who had moved to Los Angeles — was possibly the worst waiter in town during his tenure in the ol’ City of Fountains. Why? Woody, who had been an employee at Brio Tuscan Grill on the Country Club Plaza, was indicted in December 2008 for stealing identity information from his restaurant customers’ credit cards, then using the information to make online purchases.
It’s now official: Woody is the worst waiter. This week he was sentenced to three years in federal prison without parole.
