One of the first rules of any meal involving Italian food is that there is always more food. A little less than two years after closing in the Northland, Italian Gardens To Go (7335 West 119th Street) has returned.
John David DiCapo, the son of restaurateur Carl DiCapo (Charles Ferruzza wrote about DiCapo and the entertaining history of Italian Gardens back in 2010), has brought his family’s recipes to Overland Park, and they’re now available via the drive-through. Italian Gardens To Go serves pizza by the slice, sandwiches, buckets of pasta, family-style lasagna, and Italian cookies and cannoli. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
