In Westport, a Moroccan cafe gambles on a shaky location

Therse was another Marrakech Cafe once…in Overland Park

Fat City recently reported that the Bautista brothers, who operate the popular Carmen’s Cafe, had closed their short-lived Taqueria Bautista. The restaurant, at 4116 Broadway, succumbed to the acrid stink of mothballs wafting from the Oriental-rug business next door. Too many customers complained about the smell.

The space wasn’t vacant long. There’s already a new banner on the venue announcing a Middle Eastern restaurant, the Marrakech Cafe. Can it work?
