Hot Pocket Sideshots: sad shots

Hot Pockets is brand diversifying and rolling out a new slate of products, including Sideshots, described as “mini soft-baked sandwiches.”

When I went out in search of Super Bowl snack food options, two varieties came home with me from the frozen food section: mini cheeseburgers and mini buffalo style chicken. They come four to a package in two cellophane sleeves. (They’re also available in packs of 22, which I believe are reserved for eating challenges.)

You “heat, break, and eat” in the same style as bake-and-break cookie dough. The instructions for cooking are on the cellophane — it’s a minute and 45 seconds for each pair of mini sandwiches. And lest you were thinking about beginning an illicit hot-pocket business, these cellophane packages are “not for resale.”
