Cultured folks and Keystone Light drinkers might not agree on much, but both have a genuine fondness for the crinkly red Solo Cup. The holder of keg beer and grain alcohol apparently instills feelings of nostalgia in us all.

In the past few weeks, Slate and NPR have waxed poetic about the ubiquitous plastic cup. While that cup might have seen you through high school parties in the woods and college parties indoors, it’s hard to believe that red Solo Cups have ever held anything great inside them. Has it ever been what’s inside the cup that mattered to you?
