Has Haus left the building?

Haus, the two-year-old sausage-fries-and beer gastropub at 3044 Gillham Road, appears to be closed. The doors are locked, and the phone line no longer rings through. But owner-manager Desmond Carr says this is only a temporary situation.
Carr today responded to an e-mail from The Pitch: “Haus shut down for about 6-8 weeks to rebrand.”
Haus opened in 2012 with a limited menu of sausages, fries and beer. Originally, Alex Pope, of Local Pig, was consulting with the venue and supplying sausages. Pope says Haus stopped purchasing sausages from Local Pig over a year ago.
Carr, who opened Haus with Martini Corner entrepreneur Chris Sefryn and three other partners, has not elaborated on what the “rebranding” might be and hasn’t responded yet to a follow-up message. I’ll update this post when he does.
