Grunauer Restaurant celebrates first anniversary tonight, introduces new menu items

If it stops raining, Nicholas Grunauer hopes to be hosting the one-year anniversary of his family’s namesake Viennese restaurant — a benefit for the American Cancer Society — on the patio outside the Freight House location. If it’s still wet, Grunauer says the festivities will move inside and upstairs to the private-party space.

The restaurant opened last May by Nicholas; his sister, Elizabeth; and their father, charismatic chef Peter Grunauer, whose culinary career includes stints at iconic New York boites such as Regine’s and his own Manhattan bistro, Vienna 79 — in the old City Tavern space.
