Galley Bogart [1400 Union Ave.] will be celebrating their first book release alongside the opening of their newest exhibition, “Del Mito, El Rapto.” The exhibition and book feature the work of acclaimed Cuban artist Abel Massot. “Massot’s art is a fusion of literature, mythology, and raw emotion, and this book encapsulates the essence of his remarkable exhibition,” says Miller Bogart, founder of Gallery Bogart. Gallery Bogart is located in the West Bottoms and predominantly features exhibits from upcoming or established artists. Gallery Bogart’s focus stems heavily around Latin American art and artists, with their main goal being to bring as many to KC as possible.

“Latin American artists are the most absent in museum and commercial gallery collections. We are committed to increasing their exposure in the United States. Our program reflects a new approach to interpretation, demonstrating that Latin American contemporary art is not a niche or a homogeneous interest,” says Bogart.

Both the book and exhibit are described by Bogart as being “a visual journey through the world of Massot’s mythological paintings, inviting art enthusiasts and connoisseurs to explore the depth of his work.”

The book is slated for preorder alongside the exhibition this Saturday, Nov. 18th, with the event taking place at Gallery Bogart. The event will take place between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
