Frida’s Taqueria closes in Leawood, will reopen in December

Restaurateur Ivan Marquez, best-known for his popular full-service Mexican bistro, Frida’s Contemporary Mexican Cuisine, at 7200 West 121st Street, opened a fast-casual version of the restaurant, Frida’s Taqueria, at 6537 West 119th Street in Leawood, three years ago.

Marquez closed the taqueria today in order to move it to larger quarters. Slated to open again in December, Frida’s Taqueria isn’t moving very far: one block away at 6705 West 119th Street. The new location will be 2,700 square feet, double the size of the original location.
