Fresher Than Fresh Snow Cones ends it season, plus four other reasons to go out this weekend

Summer officially colcludes Sunday. That’s the end of the season for Fresher Than Fresh Snow Cones. So get over to the West Side between noon and 10 p.m. (The fun usually ends at 7 p.m., but the hours have been extended as a last hurrah.) There will be a prize wheel and snow-cone eaters are encouraged to bring something to spike their snow cones — a lemon prickly pear snow cone sounds pretty good as a martini.
If you can’t make it Sunday, stop by Hammerpress (110 Southwest Boulevard) in the Crossroads, which is now stocking Fresher Than Fresh frozen pops — like the delicious freezer pops you used to enjoy as a kid. Call ahead (816-421-1929) to make sure they have some left.
