Fresh screens at the Filling Station tonight

If Food Inc. was about making people aware of the industrialized food system, Fresh is meant to encourage people to take action to change that system. It’s the farm-to-table concept on the big screen.

The documentary focuses on small batch, local agricultural producers in the hopes of creating a literal grassroots movement. Instead of distributing the film, the producers have been working with community organizers and locavore advocates to organize screenings around the country.

Tonight is one of those screenings, at The Filling Station (2980 McGee). The free screening starts at 6:30 p.m., and KC Door to Door Organics — an organic produce delivery service — will also be on hand to talk about organic produce and farming practices.
