Franks, a hot-dog restaurant, to open in the West Bottoms

Whether it’s the next food trend in the city or the correction of a hole in our culinary repertoire, this might end up being the year of the hot dog.

The Kansas City Star reported yesterday that Franks, a dress-your-own hot-dog joint, will be opening in the West Bottoms. Restaurateur Dan Clothier is renovating the space at 1623 Genessee, right next door to R Bar, across from the Golden Ox.
