Formosa Bakery, which has been selling pastries and breads wholesale for the past month, opens to the public Thursday. The Taiwanese bakery, located at 2201 W. 25th St. in Lawrence, will be making everything from cheesecake to madeleines to spring onion bread.
The Lawrence Journal-World talked to Raymond Kung and Hamlet Chang, the owner and baker, about the new shop’s baked goods. Formosa will have savory options like shredded pork bread and plenty of custard and cookie choices. The bakery’s desserts are also available at the Oriental Bistro + Grill (1511 W. 23rd St.). Formosa will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
