The humble ravioli gets its chance to shine today, on National Ravioli Day.

I Can Haz Cheezburger named toasted ravioli the official dish of Missouri earlier this year, but in cultured Kansas City, we’re more partial to the boiled or pan-fried variety. (Sorry, St. Louis, I’m not sure toasted ravioli is the greatest culinary achievement.) But a great plate of pasta can be comforting and is best split with friends.
