Five big fat bargains from the Dirty Don’s warehouse

No, I don’t know why I bought that 12-ounce cellophane bag of Shurefine oyster crackers at Dirty Don’s Bargain Center over the weekend. I mean, maybe I’ll make some clam chowder this month or, perhaps, a pot of chili. But the real reason I was attracted to the little crackers was that the same bag retails in most grocery stores for $1.29 but was on sale here for 10 cents.

There isn’t an expiration date on the bag — not unusual at this venue — and for all I know, the little crackers could be several years old and stale. If so, I’m only out a dime, and, hell, the neighborhood squirrels will eat them.
