Farm to Market holiday breads now on shelves

Farm to Market Bread Company has reinvented two holiday breads — Panettone ($9.99) and Stollen ($12.99) — putting small twists on the classic Italian and German baked goods.

“We have worked hard perfecting the recipes for these specialty holiday breads. We hope our customers enjoy eating them as much as we enjoy baking them,” says bakery owner Mark Friend.

The Italian Panettone is usually made with raisins and candied fruit. The Farm to Market offering has cranberries and orange in a “light, cake-like bread.” To give the bread its distinctive dome shape, the bakery cools the loaves upside down.

Besides being sold in grocery stores, the Panettone is also being used as the base for the bread pudding at Jasper’s Restaurant.
