Farm to Market Bread tests a just-baked concept

Kansas City-based Farm to Market Bread Company kicks off a new venture with the Hen House Market at 135th and Metcalf starting next Monday: Trained store employees will bake and sell fresh loaves, straight from a special Spanish Llopis oven, from 4 to 6 p.m.

The bread will be available only on Monday evenings, and only one kind of bread will be baked. Company spokeswoman Jennifer Coates says Farm to Market plans to rotate its top-selling breads each week, including a French baguette, a ciabatta and rosemary-olive bread.
