The restaurant-bar space at 1000 Broadway will become the third location for an Eggtc. restaurant next spring.

Eyad Mallah, longtime partner in the two other Eggtc. venues (5107 Main, and 7182 Renner Road in Shawnee), confirmed that his partners in the new location are Price Brothers Management Company and veteran restaurateur John Geiger. Mallah says he hopes the new restaurant, which will open with a slightly abbreviated menu (“Until we get up to speed,” he says), will be in business by March or April.

Mallah, who managed Minsky’s Pizza for Eggtc. owner Gregg Johnson, has been with the breakfast-lunch spot since the Main Street location opened; he is a partner in the two current locations and will be a co-owner of the downtown venue.

“There’s quite a bit of remodeling to do,” Mallah says of the space that formerly housed a Tanner’s Bar & Grill and, more recently, a rental venue called Club 1000. “We’ll have painting to finish, floors to repair and some work in the kitchen.

Mallah says the new restaurant has already hired a chef and a manager; he’ll begin hiring serving staff in January and February.

The urban location has one drawback: parking.

“We may offer valet parking during the week,” Mallah says. “But on weekends, there shouldn’t be much of a problem.”
