East Side Story: Niecie’s Restaurant

So, inquiring minds want to know, just when is Niecie’s Restaurant — the popular Eastside diner that serves Southern-style home cooking at 5932 Prospect — moving into its new digs at 6441 Troost? Construction has been steadily moving along at the old Pizza Hut building for many months and the new sign is up, but the doors are still boarded over. I called over to the Prospect location a couple of days ago and asked one of the employees when the move to the new building was happening.

“I don’t know, honey,” the lady told me. “But I wish it was today.”
