Dunkin’ Donuts brings its new donut egg sandwich to Olathe

  • Dunkin Donuts
  • Oh Dunkin’, you so crazy.

There are three reasons to write about Dunkin’ Donuts today. The first is that a new location has opened at 18051 West 119th Street in Olathe. The second is that it is National Donut Day, and as a promotion, Dunkin’ Donuts is offering a free doughnut with the purchase of a beverage at all area locations. The third (and potentially most devastating to your heart) is that DD’s glazed-doughnut breakfast sandwich is now available nationwide.

And that sandwich is a doozy. It’s a bacon and egg sandwich in the middle of a glazed doughnut (cheese is available for an additional 20 cents). It joins their waffle breakfast sandwich (part of Dunkin’s pursuit of the Taco Bell model that seeks to combine all menu offerings into a single item) and is apparently a “perfect harmonization of sweet and salty flavors.” Once you develop a doughnut sandwich, there is no reason to stay humble.
