Drink This Now: Guy’s “Infused” Soda

The Pitch staff’s eyes have been on Guy’s Snacks ever since Grace Wilmot interviewed Andrew Miller in our December 2022 issue. The President of Guy’s Snacks teased a THC-infused potato chip, and we’ve been salivating with curiosity.

Ultimately that product ended up crumbling. Literally–the delicate style of Guy’s chips broke too much during the infusion process, so they decided not to deliver messy cannabis chip dust to the market. Still, the idea of a Guy’s THC collab stuck with us like a grease stain on our paper magazine.

Fast forward to 2025, and Franklin’s is producing tens of thousands of cans of Guy’s cannabis “infused” sodas, offering an alternative gateway into the nostalgic, playful–and now chiller–snacky world.

The collab between Franklin’s (formerly Franklin’s Stash House) and Guy’s was a no-brainer, considering that Miller is an investor in Franklin’s. An ideal companion to Tasty Mix was born.

Flavors of Guy’s “infused” soda include Orange, Root Beer, and Grape, which happens to be the order of popularity. Each 12 oz can contains 25 mg of THC, and a resealable top makes it a long-term sipper for lightweights like me.

I tested the resealable top by holding it upside down and shaking multiple cans–and the seal held. However, I wouldn’t be too hopeful about carbonation levels holding for more than a few hours. I would prefer more carbonation in a soda product, but I’m bonkers for bubbles.

The cans crack open, feeding a satisfying “cracking a cold one” ritual, and a bubbly mist releases a hint of marijuana smell. On the tongue, weed is not perceptible unless you’re searching hard for it. The syrupy and sweet sodas offer a classic and expected taste of each flavor. I found myself returning to orange most frequently.

For me, a few sips from the can is a gentle and well-controlled dose. Every body is different, but I notice a relaxed buzz within about 30 minutes. On one particular Friday night, I found myself contemplating the unsustainable amount of waste required by capitalism and Googling “how big was the Titanic compared to a human?” But like, all in a fun way.

Guy’s “Infused” Sodas can be found at area dispensaries including Greenlight, ReLeaf, and more.
