Do you want a letter-grade health inspection system for KC restaurants?

If the good folks of Zagat are right, Kansas City is ready for a letter-grade health inspection system to tell you exactly how clean a restaurant was during the last visit from the Health Department. In Zagat’s 2012 Top Restaurants Survey (Justus Drugstore was one of the 1,578 restaurants named as a “top restaurant”), 76 percent of Kansas Citians surveyed supported the introduction of a grading system.

Supporters will tell you that a clean restaurant has nothing to worry about because they’ll always have a passing grade. Critics will say that like a critic’s system of stars, letters don’t tell the whole story. Do you agree with the results of the survey? Should KC move towards letter grades (a la Los Angeles) that will be displayed in restaurants windows?
