Discount Liquor & Tobacco #1 suspension for liquor violations starts today

Discount Liquor & Tobacco #1’s liquor license has been suspended for two days by the city of Kansas City, Missouri. The liquor/convenience store attached to a gas station is located at 1901 N.E. Russel Road, right off of I-35 Highway in North Kansas City, Missouri.

The suspension began at 6 this morning and end at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. It is for violation of “multiple city ordinances” including “employees selling alcoholic beverages to minors.”

Discount Liquor & Tobacco #1 is the latest to be cited in what appears to be a crackdown on city ordinance violators. Last week Harry’s Country Club, the Brooksider and the Cigar Box were closed for two-day suspensions that included violations for selling liquor to minors. Like Discount Liquor, their suspensions were for early in the week.

The moral of the story: Don’t sell to minors and risk losing the business of that valuable Monday afternoon liquor crowd.
