Diane Mora bakes cupcakes for a cause

Cake baker Diane Mora wants to “bake the world a better place.” Mora plans to travel to the Arizona-Mexico border next month to help the humanitarian group No More Deaths provide water, food and emergency medical aid to Mexican immigrants attempting to cross the border into the United States.

“This is a humanitarian effort, not a political one,” says Mora. “No human should be deprived of water, food, or basic medical attention.”

To pay her travel and food expenses, Mora is selling decorated cupcakes — white or chocolate cake with one of her signature fondant frosting designs — for $3.50 each. Mora is accepting orders for as many or as few cupcakes as people want on two dates: May 21 and May 28. To order cupcakes or for more information, call her at 913-484-2638.
