Designs by Three

Head down to the Crossroads District tonight for your first chance to see the latest works by three local artists, but don’t expect any dull, conventionally realistic portraits of fruit. At 7 p.m., there’s a new show at the Byron C. Cohen Gallery for Contemporary Art (2020 Baltimore), featuring the works of local abstract artists Grant Miller, Linnea Spransy and Ricky Allman. All three artists weave modern themes into their creations: Allman with futuristic, parallel, densely colored acrylics; Spransy with airy, geometric, two- and three-toned drawings and paintings; and Miller with vivid, chaotic webs of designs and patterns in mixed media. The designs stretch the constraints of their respective formats. The exhibition runs through February 28. Call 816-421-5665 for more information.
