Deschutes collaborates with Boulevard, plans distribution in Missouri

Get ready to hear the name Deschutes (pronounced duh-shoots) a lot more often around these parts. Deschutes Brewery, based out of Bend, Oregon, has big plans for Kansas City that begins with a high-profile collaboration with the Boulevard Brewing Co.

Our hometown beer mavens introduced their first-ever collaboration, appropriately named Collaboration No. 1, with Belgian brewmaster Jean-Marie Rock last year. For Collaboration No. 2, they decided to go in a very different direction from an Imperial Pilsner, as Boulevard brewmaster Steven Pauwels and Deschutes’ Larry Sidor settled on a White I.P.A. The twist this year is that both breweries will be making a version.
