Deschutes brews arrive in Kansas today

  • Deschutes is now in Kansas.

You’ll now be able to order a brew from the Deschutes Brewery during Kansas Happy Hour. The craft brewer (which collaborated last year with Boulevard Brewery on a White I.P.A.) out of Bend, Oregon, has been in Missouri since January, but its two flagship brews, Black Butte Porter and Mirror Pond Pale Ale, debut in Kansas today.

The brewery pledged in a release about the expansion of its distribution that “its Reserve Series and Bond Street Series specialty brews, plus other seasonal and year-round favorites like Jubelale and Chainbreaker White IPA,” would be available by the end of this year. Representatives of Deschutes will be back in Kansas City from Monday, July 30, through Saturday, August, 4 for Base Camp events — a series of tastings and dinners, including Hats Off to Homebrewers at the Amigoni Urban Winery (1505 Genessee) on Tuesday, July 31, from 6 to 9 p.m.
