Debuting tomorrow: Christopher Elbow ice cream!

Christopher Elbow has a secret. The founder and owner of Elbow Chocolates only sort-of likes chocolates. “They’re amazing but after six months, you just start to eat the same thing over and over … I can go a week without eating them.”
But ice cream is different. “I’ll eat it everyday. I love ice cream. I’ll sit on the couch with my wife and open up a pint and just be talking and next thing I know, the pint is just gone.” Now Elbow is combining that love of ice cream with his chocolate knowledge and distribution network to create Elbow ice cream, debuting tomorrow only at his store at 1819 McGee.
“I’m going to get so fat from these,” Elbow says as he brings out a tray of pints from his freezer. He didn’t make the final decision to serve it to customers until he’d bought an ice cream machine. “There were so many things to consider — how to label it, what flavors, the recipes, consistency, how many could we sell … it’s turned into a more difficult process than I thought it was going to be.”
Elbow hopes to debut between 16 and 20 flavors tomorrow, many based on variations of his popular chocolates.
