Crowded restaurant, overcrowded trash

I was at a barbecue restaurant Friday night where your food is brought out, but you must bus your own plastic trays. This arrangement worked fine until I got to the trash can.
It was the middle of the dinner rush, so I waited in a small line to dump my tray. When I got to the front of the line, I hesitated because the trash can was nearly overflowing. There were two more people behind me eager to rid themselves of chicken carcasses and barbecue-smeared white bread. So I caved.
