Cosentino’s downtown super-market delayed

In what will be a blow for downtowners, Cosentino’s says it is not opening until next year.

The supermarket in the Power & Light District was slated to open this past summer, but that was pushed back to sometime in November. Now, in this interview on Fox4 News last night, John Cosentino says the grocery store will definitely be open by January 7, 2009.

That’s a setback, but after peering into the windows whenever I walk by, I have to say I am stoked for the store’s opening. Not as stoked as if Trader Joe’s were going into the space, but still, it will be nice to have a grocery store downtown, especially one with an 83-foot-long salad bar.
