Coming soon: New Chubby’s opening in Northland (Update)

Update: (March 10, 2011) On Monday, Fat City reported that a new Chubby’s restaurant was opening in the Northland, in the Boardwalk shopping center just off the Barry Road exit of Interstate 29. Since that was posted, we’ve spoken with the owner, Vincent Frew, and learned a few details — including the fact that this Chubby’s will be serving wine and beer. The update follows the original post.

A new Chubby’s diner is set to open in the Northland, off Interstate 29 and Barry Road in the same shopping strip that houses China Wok. The new restaurant will not be owned by the LaBruzza family, which owns the original Chubby’s on Broadway at 3756 Broadway, but will still be in the family, sort of.
