Chip’s Candy Factory joins the bulk candy renaissance

- Crown Center is getting a lot more jelly beans.
Bulk candy never dies — it just goes in a new container. Mike and Nicole Herman, the owners of Chip’s Chocolate Factory, are planning on opening a second store in Crown Center: Chip’s Candy Factory on April 15. The Candy Factory replaces the Candy Store, which closes on March 25.
The new candy shop on the first floor will offer more than 400 kinds of candy. It’s a boon for lovers of nostalgic candy and the stores like Mr. Bulky that once came standard with malls. Those who think they can’t find a decent malted chocolate ball can also check out We B Nuts and Stuff (9437 Mission), which recently opened in Leawood. It’s hoped that this is the trend which keeps the Valomilks of the world with us a whole lot longer.
