Whether you’re looking to line up against Chick-fil-A or simply get in line at the counter, there’s a new area location open at 690 N.W. Blue Parkway in Lee’s Summit. The eighth restaurant in the Kansas City area opened at 6:30 a.m. and will be open Monday through Saturday (6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.).

The location at Ward Parkway had lines out the door yesterday (and a counter protest from the LGBT community) as customers came out for former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s proclaimed “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.” The chain has been in the news the past two weeks after President and COO Dan Cathy gave an interview in which he explained his position opposing gay marriage. Huckabee encouraged people to buy food at the chicken franchise yesterday to show support for the company.
