Chicken Macaroni & Cheese restaurant is still open

After receiving several e-mails and Facebook messages last week from fans concerned that the one-year-old Chicken Macaroni & Cheese restaurant at 7025 Prospect was closed, I tracked down the venue’s co-owner, Dyamund Shields Jr.

“We’re very much open,” he says. “We changed our opening hours from 10 a.m. to noon, but we’re open every day from noon to 9 p.m.”

Chicken Macaroni & Cheese is owned by the father-and-son team of Dyamund Shields and Dyamund Shields Jr., who were featured in the December 9 Pitch cover story about Prospect’s restaurant community. 

Shields Jr. says his family does close the restaurant if the weather is bad. “And that’s happened a few times lately,” he says. “But people just need to call us.”
