Find an awl because this weekend is going to end up adding a few inches to your waistline. There’s no bigger weekend for Browne’s Irish Market. The market and deli will host thousands of revelers beginning today, with an Irish breakfast at 9 a.m. and staying open until 6 p.m. Browne’s also serves up proper corned-beef sandwiches and hosts live musical acts (yes, including bagpipes) 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. It’s the perfect place to hit before and after the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Also, north of the river, there’s the 29th annual Snake Saturday Parade at 11 a.m. Saturday. The annual festival (the parade starts at 14th Street and Swift) comes with a bier garden (the perfect place to watch the procession) and a host of carnival-fare favorites (corn dogs, funnel cakes and fresh-squeezed lemonade).
