Cancun Fiesta Fresh moving into Huddle House location

In the restaurant business, the term “temporarily closed” can mean that a venue is making repairs or quietly changing ownership. Often, though, it ends up meaning permanently closed. The latter is true of Huddle House, the small diner at 3959 Broadway that put up such a sign earlier this month.
But it may not be empty long: The Westport Mexican staple Cancun Fiesta Fresh, at 4019 Pennsylvania, appears poised to move into the former Huddle House.
The latest Heart of Westport Neighborhood Association newsletter includes this note: “Huddle House has closed. Cancun will be opening soon in the same location.” A representative with the neighborhood association confirms that a Westport landlord has told the organization that Cancun Fiesta Fresh had leased the Huddle House space.
I visited Cancun Fiesta Fresh this morning and was told by an employee that the restaurant — located across the street from the Westport Coffee House — was moving. The employee said she had no idea when the move was scheduled to take place.
