Breaking the fast with a feast during Ramadan

Since August 11, Kansas City’s Muslim community has been observing Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar and a time for praying, all-day fasting and a communal gathering at nightfall to enjoy Iftar, the “break the fast” meal.

The month of Ramadan continues through September 9, and at least two local restaurants are offering Iftar dinners each night.
