Breakfast Buffet: Wednesday, August 26

Stop the presses! This article from the U.S. News & World Report website finds that sugar is everywhere, including — I know you’ll find this hard to believe — processed and packaged foods! This sugar addiction is not only causing obesity in America to explode — but giving inspiration for reality TV shows where fat people are the stars!
And speaking of fat celebrities, the once-svelte Wichita native Kirstie Alley is using Twitter to get back at the National Enquirer writer who penned the story that chubby Kirstie has only four years left to live.
If only Kirstie had stuck with an exercise program, which reminds me of an older, but hilarious post on the JJS in KCK blog about the Best Exercise Program Ever. Alas, why can’t chubby people still “lose weight deliciously” by eating a piece of candy before meals, like they did in the 1980s when Ayds candy was being marketed on TV. Those candies were, indeed, very good. I once ate an entire box — right before eating a giant Thanksgiving dinner. Luckily, no one at the dinner had a Polaroid camera!
On the subject of dieting, let’s not forget the Liquid Diet blog: Drinking, you see, can be good for some people, but not this intoxicated man who helped himself to all the food in a supermarket deli.
