Now granted, Brookside Boulevard hasn’t been the kindest to shops. But calling it “the black hole of death” seems to be a tad overkill. Otherwise, this is a nice blog post about a Brookside Italian market. (KC Lunch Spots)

The FDA thought it was tomatoes and then peppers and then cilantro and now thinks it’s peppers again but doesn’t know for sure what caused a salmonella outbreak and may not be able to prove it ever. God help us if the FDA ever needs to solve a real outbreak case involving something more deadly than salmonella. (Chicago Tribune)
