Breakaway Music Festival returns to Kansas City in June, announces 2024 lineup
This week, Breakaway announced the full lineup for their Breakaway Kansas City Music Festival, taking place at Azura Amphitheater on June 14 and 15. In addition to activations, onsite fan experiences, and a silent disco featuring local talent, the festival will be hosted by Bobby Hendrickson and feature performances by Fisher, Tiësto, Slander, Two Friends, ARMNHMR, BUNT., Chuew, Cloonee, Coco & Breezy, Disco Lines, Frank Walker, ISOxo, Jessica Audiffred, KREAM, MATRODA, PEEKABOO, SMOAKLAND, TroyBoi, Venbee, and Wuki.
Additionally, Kansas City locals ECXSS, Tux & Horn, and ZEALR have been added to the lineup of top-notch electronic and EDM acts.
“ECXSS, Tux & Horn (Ashton Martin b2b Human Penguin), and Zealr are all Kansas City natives that own the local DJ space,” said Mike Avdey, Breakaway’s VP Talent Buying & Ticketing, in an email to the Pitch. “To be able to offer them a chance to be featured on the same lineup as Fisher and Tiësto – how cool is that?”
2024 marks the third year of the Breakaway Music Festival in Kansas City, and Avdey continues on to say, “We’re excited to return with an incredible lineup featuring global, national, and even local talent. We pride ourselves in our talent booking strategy which includes doing our due diligence in networking with locals and providing them with an opportunity to expand their reach nationally.”
If you want to get kicking a little bit early, Breakaway—in addition to Vega and Midwest Collective—is co-sponsoring Music Speaks Fest, “A Diverse Celebration of Electronic Dance Music, featuring artists from Lawrence, Manhattan, Kansas City, and more,” at the Replay Lounge on Thursday, May 9.
