- Zon got some love in Colorado this week.
The Boulevard Brewing Co. is once again walking away a winner from the Great American Beer Festival. The hometown brewery earned two medals this year at the Colorado fest, a bronze for Zon in the Belgian-Style Witbier category and a gold for Love Child No. 3 in the Wood and Barrel-Aged Sour Beer category.
Boulevard is not the only area brewery to leave with some hardware. St. Louis-based Perennial Artisan Ales, which made its debut in KC earlier this year, earned a silver for its Barrel-aged Sump Coffee Stout in the Coffee Beer category, and the Springfield Brewing Co. also captured a silver for its Heart of Darkness Dunkel in the European-Style Dunkel group. The only winner from Kansas was Gella’s Diner & Lb. Brewing Co. out of Hays, Kansas, which took home a gold for its American Hefeweizen and a silver for its American Wheat in the American-Style Wheat category.
