Boulevard Pilsner being released today

Full credit for this post goes to KC Beer Blog, which broke the wonderful news that Boulevard is releasing its American lager called Boulevard Pilsner all around the city.

They couldn’t have picked a better week for it, either. American lager is the classic hot-weather beer and Boulevard’s version uses all malt — unlike Budweiser, Miller, Coors or many other big-brewery lagers, which use up to two-thirds rice (it’s cheaper but less flavorful).

While Boulevard has released German and Munich-style lagers such as Bob’s 47 and Maibock, this is its first foray into a very light lager.

Boulevard is only selling bottles in six-packs. Early reports show many liquor stores aren’t stocking it with Boulevard products but with other lagers like those mentioned above. The price is around $6 for a six-pack.
