Boozefish will reopen, temporarily, for Beaujolais Nouveau celebration on November 20

Boozefish Wine Bar, which officially closed in September (after a sale and a bittersweet au revoir party), is still a rental venue until the former restaurant’s owner, Maija Diethelm-Floyd, packs the last suitcase to take with her when she moves to France with her husband, Steve Floyd. It’s a project that Diethelm-Floyd has been planning for over a year.

The one-night-only celebration of the vin de primeur, a wine made from hand-harvested Gamay grapes grown in the Beaujolais region of France, will be held Thursday, November 20, from 5:30 to 11 p.m. at Boozefish, 1511 Westport Road; cost of admission is $5 at the door.

The admission includes hors d’oeuvres. (A special a la carte menu featuring quiche, crepes, tapanade and soup will be available for a more full-bodied meal). Beaujolais Nouveau by the glass and bottle will be available for purchase.

“It’s not a fundraiser for the Alliance Francaise,” Diethelm-Floyd says, “just a nice soiree of wine and food.”
